Enabling STEM through Education
What is STEMable?
STEMable is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization built to help underrepresented youth gain exposure through STEM-related activities and spark interest in STEM.
STEMable is currently located in the Raleigh-Durham area and has hosted multiple webinars and in-person events for underfunded middle schools in the Raleigh-Durham area.
STEMable also has international connections, including: China & Pakistan---both where STEM is rarely prevalent---to educate and recruit high schoolers for mentorship and education.
STEMable has 50+ tutors and hundreds of resources for struggling students to dive into, hoping that one day, STEM education can be normalized, free, and effective for everyone.
STEMable Learn is for elementary and middle school students from diverse low socioeconomic backgrounds in an effort to increase exposure to STEM. STEMable Learn will consist of online and in-person meetings as well as some introductory experiments provided in STEMable kits.
STEMable Summer is a summer program consisting of a select number of individuals to participate in a free, resource heavy program. Members of STEMable Summer will likely be tutored and mentored through a 1 on 1 mentoring system and workshops held will introduce them to biochemistry and physics.
STEMable Research is a program for middle and high school students who have had previous exposure to STEM but needs additional funding or materials to continue their research. STEMable Research also provides tailored support from student-researchers from all areas including: biotechnology, behavioral science, medicine, physics, mathematics, etc.
STEMable Service is a volunteer-based community for environmental advocates. STEMable Service participates in county-organized events as well as individual necessitated events for both altruism and positive community maintenance.
STEMable Outreach works on building grassroot programs that differ from community to community. STEMable Outreach hopes to connect with more students and even adults on the potential STEM education can have through promotion and webinars.
